Fight Weekend Part III and More Media Coverage

After the party was over we went back to the room for some much needed rest, I was still a little upset about the outcome of the fight and I had lost my voice from yelling so much, but it was fun none the less. My meeting from the previous day with Jake had been rescheduled to the next afternoon anyway so I needed to relax for at least a few hours. After I rested up it was back to work. It was noon and my flight left at 6:00 but I still had to get to my meeting at the Green Valley Ranch Hotel in time to hang out for a bit and then get to the airport. The meeting was extremely informal…that’s code for ”Pool Party”. I walked in and met Jake Hattan for the first time face to face, he is an extremely bright guy and he really knows what he’s talking about in the business. I think one of the things that sets him apart from other guys in the field is he himself was a fighter previously. We talked for a while and I ran into Quinton again and we talked for a minute. It made me so proud when Quinton told me “Your cousin is Like a father to me”.

Jake also introduced me to Tracy Lee, she’s a photographer, a writer, and she has a site called Combat Lifestyle.comwhere she chronicles the life of the fighters outside the ring. Her site is really cool and informative, I mostly like it because its nice to see these guys as regular people not just fighters. You can check out even more of her pics from this event, the pre-fight dinner Friday as well as a whole bunch of other events that she goes to.

After that it was time to head home, looking back on the weekend and all the things that happened I thought we had gotten a good start on accomplishing our goal of becoming an established brand in the business. I was completely out of cards and media kits. I learned a few things, met some really cool people, and more importantly, I had a good time doing it.

Over the weekend we had a lot of views of the blog, at first I was thinking that it was because of the work we did at the fight over the weekend but it wasn’t. A Canadian MMA News site called The MMA Newswrote an article about us, it was a really cool overview of what we’re trying to do here with the line and also about the blog and how it helps a lot of people to avoid the pitfalls of the business. It was definitely a good thing to have done for us, thank you Mike Parmar and everyone at the MMA News. We also had another article about us in another site called MMA Station.com, there another MMA news related site, really very informative, thank you to Brian Robertson and the people of MMA Station for the props.

Yesterday after writing the second installment of “Fight Weekend” I checked to see the blog stats again to see where they were that day, now our record was pretty high previously but this time it was different, we smashed the old record thanks again to our friend Robert Joyner from MMA Payout.com. He loves to do this to me, he writes something about us and doesn’t say anything, no warning, he just does it. The only way I can tell is the huge spike in views from that day. He is a great writer and very well informed in the business side of MMA, our heart felt thanks once again Robert Joyner and Adam Swift of MMA Payout.com. Check out Roberts articles and look for Adam on Inside MMA airing on HDNet Fights with Bas and Kenny. Thanks for reading everybody.

Respect.
